leaving Edublogs because of inline advertising
March 22, 2009 by Jen
a kind commenter (thanks M-H) alerted me to the fact that edublogs has implemented in-line advertising on free accounts (like mine). This isn’t something I’ve seen before, but some research today has made me really furious about it. I think it’s totally inappropriate in an education-focused community to have user-generated content automatically hyperlinking to advertising, and I am appalled that Edublogs decided to go down this route.
Chris Sessums said it much better.
Anyway, I’m voting with my feet and moving my blog to http://www.jenrossity.net/blog
I will put forwarding links on recent blog posts here on Eduspaces and hope that anyone who’s interested in following my (infrequent) postings will update their bookmarks or rss feeds.
Thanks!
Jen

The word blog in your last paragraph formed itself into a link to Gold Coast holidays. (I assume it knows that this reader is in Australia.) And the word security above the spam catcher offers me a private security firm (again in Australia). You have admire the chutzpah!
oh, the irony!
